Cat’s Intelligence

We often look at cat intelligence the wrong way. We think cats aren't obedient, won't do tricks, and won't come when they are called. This is not necessarily true, but it's true often enough for people to bring up as a drawback of cats. Yet, does it show the cat is stupid? Or does it show the pet cat is smart?

 Cat is clever Science has studied cat intelligence and the result will be amazing! They concluded that the cat’s intelligence is comparable to that of a six year old human. Of all the mammals, a cat's brain has memory and emotional mapping most comparable to our own. Cats use tools, figure out mazes and puzzle boxes, and display long term memories, especially those involving spatial configurations, their specialty. Let us see some facts that the cats show us their intelligence.

1) Communicate Cats learn by watching each other; they communicate by eye contact and words (albeit cat words); they speak to their young in certain tones; cats use direct eye contact and to separate tones to be sure you understand their needs and requirements. For instance, if you ask your cat at the door, "Do you want out, do you want out?" You'll notice in short order that your cat will meow the word "out" to ask to go out. While you fall asleep, they will stand on their chest, nose to nose with you staring down till you open your eyes. This is to get your attention. They may need to go out, to eat, to warn that the house is on fire... It’s not just a joke. If you notice carefully, you will believe.

2) Remembrance Cats don't forget either. They remember everything. Cats use smell, sight, sound, and intelligence, keeping in mind all the time every past occurrence regarding their people family. They'll remember to run and hide after just one visit from the eighteen month old niece every time the kid hits the driveway. They also don't forget if they like you even if they haven't seen you in months. Maybe this is familiar to you. Having travelled out for a long time, but when you get home, your pet cat is still friendly to you.

3) Jealous Also, as our little children, cats are jealous of each other and need individual attention each one. A shy cat will watch and notice if you are kind to other cats and will finally come around to be your friend. When one doesn't get enough attention he or she may "act out" by being rude to their peers and people family. Their feelings get hurt very easily and they respond best to gentle correction and common courtesy and acknowledgment. Slapping at them is not a good way to correct. Cats don't forget and they will hesitate to trust you.

Train your cat to show its intelligence Maybe you don’t like your cat’s behavior now for you don’t think your cat is clever or even though you have recognized its brightness, its behavior is not within you hope. Is there any measure to change? Yes, your cat can be trained. And then, it will show you its intelligence in right ways. There are some rules for training your feline friends to do different things.

1. Start when the cat is just a kitten - Young minds are more receptive to training and bad habits have not had a chance to form.

2. Always use positive reinforcement - A hug or a whiff of catnip goes much further than a harsh word.

3. Keep the training short and frequent - Cats don't have very long attention spans, so it is far better to have six 5-minute sessions spaced throughout the day than one 30-minute block of time. 

4. Get down on your cat's level - How would you like a 200-foot giant telling you what to do?

5. Stay indoors - This is crucial; you don't want your cat getting distracted or running into the street.

6. Self gratification is the drive of a cat and they will decide when and what they want.

7. You must be willing to acquire their schedule and enjoy whatever game they choose. Is the cat so stupid they don't know the mouse made of fabric that a just lie there isn’t really a mouse? Or are they regarding a toy as a mouse substitute, and perfectly good for pretend? You still have ideas like these? No! You should change your mind and train your pet to show its brightness.
